with the rain constantly looking liek this…apparently you can get strange things like this…my question is, how the hell did he get in there? im thinking this is part of some sort of practical joke.needless to say, he scared the crap out of me when i went to mail some letters.
on a mission to get a decent GPS program running for my dad on his new powerbook, i got my really nice windows GPS program running on OSX, well, emulated in windows on OSX, the performance hit isn’t too bad, the tricky part was getting the hardware working (read: easy when you find the obvious setup configuration)….
oh, and for IMLocal to come out for tiger, you listening gavin?for all you apple head, WWDC begins next monday, expect some new toys to be coming soon.
yesterday the frustrated me, now it is my turn, apparently Dell has to look into purchases when you dispute the charge with AMEX, and by that i mean, they have to call you. So, I get to put THEM on hold, i get to ask them to repeat everything 8 times, I get to ask them for information that doesn’t exist, oh man this is fun.
that left me talking to people in india.• its not that i don’t like india or the culture or people, i think it has to do with the fact they don’t understand certain american customs or values, they have no accountability, no concern for the customer, and all they do is fall back on their bin of customer service lines, “thank you mr _____, i understand you are ____, i will take care of that if i can put you on hold again,” they also are on a remote satellite feed that adds a 3 second delay to the phone conversation, VERY annoying.• i have been defrauded out of about $150 by dell - called about 5 times now to get something done about it, the customer service representative claimed to be mortified that i was ‘accidentally’ charged but never received my goods/services - but funnily, i was never refunded, i never got a call back, and even the guy’s supervisor won’t return my phone calls (i know, big surprise).• i spent 45 minutes to get a damned RMA on my monitor today, does that seem right?… i had to spell my name for the guy about 10 times, even though i had given him my customer number and order number, what the hell is wrong with this picture?anyway, basically it is impossible to get hold of a reliable person who can do something in a timely fashion, and i would personally rather pay an extra $200 for the apple branded version just because i can call and speak to someone that speaks english and who will help me with the problem, but these mega-companies are really getting out of hand.
