“The Snufalufagus Hookup”
Published by kyle June 11th, 2005 in NewsLast night i spent some time chatting with josh about the whole dating scene for us engineering majors. it seems that dating for us is a bit of a conundrum - we spend so much time studying its hard to find time to be social. and when we do find time to be social, we run into so many idiot girls that don’t have a clue as to what the hell we are talking about half the time, don’t share many similar interests, and quite frankly have no interest in learning or anything halfway mentally challenging. all of which are of grave importance to most engineering majors i know. thats one cool thing about my major, its almost guaranteed that at least some percentage of the kids in the class, have a keen interest in at least learning, so if faced with a challenge, they don’t throw their hands up and say “you guys here that one about the blonde and the rabbi?” they say, “this will be way cooler than over-clocking my mom’s 486!” anyway, my point being, as a nerd, dating can kinda blow. Scobleizer has a link to an NY Daily News article talking about nerd dating. an amusing read, but the best part, and reason i thought i’d spend a few mins writing was this gem. Its called Geek2Geek, its like all the other match-up services, but just for nerds. Just another way nerds are taking over the world.
