well, it was only out for about an hour last night, but apparently the data center my server is colo’d at got hit by a huge DDOS attack last night. something like 6000 hosts sending packets as fast as possible over all three carriers, including the venerable Level3. took down the entire data center. didn’t know things like this were so prevalent or possible to do to such a large datacenter.

    yeah - I remember when my level 3 was taken down - so I moved up to level 2, so it wouldn’t happen again - plus I tossed in some code to confuse them
